  I tried doing the thing described in the FAQ for livevideo embedding

  [livevideo id={video id number from livevideo.com}] and it isn’t being parsed.

  Since you are self-hosted, you need to inquire over at http://wordpress.org/support/ since the software here at this free hosting service works differently. The solution you are trying to use won’t work for you.
