Livro theme submenu dropdown

    I’m new (and bad) at this so please bear with me and my poor explanations.
    I want and love the Livro theme (super minimal and is dark) but I’m about to change it because of this one issue I’ve been trying to resolve for days.
    I have my menu, it’s just two lines =, you click it and the menu opens downward. In my menu I have a couple pages that have a submenu with pages and categories within it.
    My issue is, these drop down menu’s are permanently open and look ridiculous. I want when the reader opens the menu, that they see the page items, and they have to click the arrow for the menu to drop down / open.
    In my editor and navigation it shows it nested properly, has the little area, looks like it should function properly. It doesn’t. I’ve been in all the settings a hundred times, I can’t figure it out.
    I’ve found the show arrow, open on click, a lot of diff settings, nothing is working.
    How do I make my sub menu close until it’s clicked to open? I hate to change my theme I love because of this single annoying detail I can’t figure out.

    That should say ARROW not area, sorry, no idea how to go back in and edit..
