I took a break over the summer. This week when i tried to post a new article after a two-month absence, I find that my photos will not load into the media catalog. They get started, but don’t complete. Also, my notifications won’t load either. I was able to type in my text in a new post, but that seems to be it. I still have lots of memory and my photo size is the same as always. What can I do to get wordpress working again?

Sounds like a browser or bandwidth problem. Try emptying your browser cache, reboot browser and start fresh without loading other things. I’ve sometimes had problems with browser add-ons too slowing everything down.

Which OS and browser are you running?

We installed windows 10 recently. My browser is Firefox 47.0.1. Not sure what add-ons i have on Firefox, but i don’t really use any…

I tried your suggestion but it made no difference. By reboot, i assume you meant turn everything off, then on again? How do I check bandwidth?

Just checked my add-ons and I have Adblock plus, privacy badger and share button for pinterest

My son-in-law came over and solved the problem. It was privacy badger. He disabled it for wordpress. Then when wordpress froze during the loading of a photo, he pressed shift/reload. The photo then completed the operation and appeared in my library. Thought I’d let you know in case others are having the same problem.
