Loading Time

  It seems like my website is taking forever to load..
  would i be correct in thinking this?
  How can I make it load quicker?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  It loads fine for me, but you might want to reduce the number of posts shown by going to settings > reading and reducing the number under “Blog pages show at most.”

  is there standard amount that people go by for showing posts?

  Also..
  this support forum is great!!
  You all really are very awesome!

  I am finding this whole blogging thing very difficult.
  Would you recommend any good how-to-blog books?

  There is a “WordPress for Dummies” book, but it focuses mainly on the self-hosted version of wordpress, which works differently in key ways from what we have here. There are far more limitations here.

  My suggestion is to look through the FAQ’s here as well as the support pages and also search the forums for things that you have questions about. The search feature here in the forums leaves a lot to be desired mainly due to the fact that many of the threads to not get properly tagged so that they appear in searches. If you cannot find the answer, then ask in the forum and someone will help you out.

  There is also a wealth of very good information over at http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/ covering many different topics from beginner level to expert.

  As far as the number of posts, that is entirely up to you, but personally I like somewhere between 3 and 5. It kind of depends on the content and the length of the posts. I always recommend that on blogs with lots of images or videos that people keep the number of posts shown on the pages to a lower number such as 3 or 5. Also, don’t overload a post with images. I ran onto one person asking a question here in the forum that was having problems with a post and had 140 images in that one post.
