Loadstar theme image sizing

  Hello!

  I have sized all of my header and featured images to Loadstar theme’s recommended 2000px x 1200px in Photoshop before uploading– yet the full images are not being displayed. I understand that this is a responsive theme and that they will scale depending on viewer’s screen size, but even when viewing desktop site in full-sized browser window, the images appear to be randomly cropped and zoomed — what am I missing here?

  Hi SallyAnne, I see the image on your home page is the exact size listed at the bottom of the Lodestar Theme Showcase page, under Quick Specs.

  With the image going the full width of the browser window or device, it is quite the dance to keep the bulk of the image showing. Adjustments can be made with custom CSS, but what works for one image may not work for others, so you get into a spiral of writing CSS rules for each and every header/featured image.

  The theme does a center crop on the images, so my suggestion is to keep the images at the recommended sizes and then size and crop the images so that the most important bits are near the center vertically and horizontally.
