Loadstar theme image sizing

    Hello!

    I have sized all of my header and featured images to Loadstar theme’s recommended 2000px x 1200px in Photoshop before uploading– yet the full images are not being displayed. I understand that this is a responsive theme and that they will scale depending on viewer’s screen size, but even when viewing desktop site in full-sized browser window, the images appear to be randomly cropped and zoomed — what am I missing here?

    Hi there, the site you referenced is using the Natural theme. I’m seeing quite a few site associated with your username, and some self-hosted sites as well. Can we have a link to the site you are wanting help with?

    Hi Sally –

    Thanks for sharing the site. I’ve had a look and don’t see anything obviously wrong. Could you try taking a look at the site in a different browser, let me know if you see anything different there.

    It’d be great if you can capture some screen shots of how you are seeing the images – this way we can compare them to what we see. Add the screen shots in to your media library on the site and we will take a peak. Thanks.

    Hi Liz,

    I’ve looked at the site w/ Safari, Firefox and Chrome — same result for all.

    The featured images have been sized in outside of WP (w/Photoshop) to exactly 2000px wide x 1200px tall.

    These 3 pages, based on image content are easiest to spot the problem.

    Also, I notice that the featured image does not appear @ same scale / proportion on homepage as it does on its own resident page– see page below as example and compare with view of same image when scrolling through homepage (3rd photo down).

    Hi there,

    Another staff member replied to you on this a couple weeks ago in https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/loadstar-theme-image-sizing/

    This is intentional. The theme centre-crops all images depending on screen size, so the full image will never show. The recommended size is just to ensure that regardless the screen’s dimensions, it can always be cropped in such a way that there’s no whitespace at the edges of the image.
