Local wordpress web design, currently 2014 theme but want to insert child theme

    Hi everyone!

    Noob to web design and first time poster on the forum! Incredibly excited to be here but also because I’ve run into a stumbling block. I’m developing my website – currently hosted on a local computer. Installed wp and as default, theme is 2014. I wanted to add a child theme – which Ive done via style.css but when I try to activate it, I get to this page. http://gyazo.com/ac911bfbb690d2246701e3932276fc04

    Not sure where to go. Can anyone point me to the right direction

    You cannot purchase any theme or upgrade here for any blog that’s not hosted by WordPress.COM from WordPress.COM.

    You are referring to a local install of WordPress.ORG software and we do not provide support for them here at WordPress.COM.

    This is the WordPress.COM support forum. You need to post to the WordPress.ORG support forum for help with your site because it is not hosted by WordPress.COM.

    WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
