Hi there! You’re look at the wrong URL :)
This is probably what you’re seeking:
http://apriltmoncrief.wordpress.com/2014/04/04/unexpected-blessings/Your site’s dashboard can be found at:
http://apriltmoncrief.wordpress.com/wp-adminAnd I confused things a bit: amoncrief75.com is hosted here at WordPress.com/. If you would like that to be your primary domain name, please go to Store → My Domains in your Dashboard. Select amoncrief75.com and make it your primary. If you take this action, your visitors will see amoncrief75.com rather than aprilmoncrief.wordpress.com in their address bars.
Your domain aprilmoncrief.com is hosted elsewhere. You’ve purchased domain mapping from us. This means that your blog can have the name aprilmoncrief.com instead, if you wish. However, the name servers have to be changed with your registrar in order for that process to be complete.
When I do a public search of your domain records, this is what I see:
http://who.is/whois/aprilmoncrief.comIt appears as if your registrar can be found at this URL: http://1and1.com
You can map that domain with your WordPress.com site by following these directions:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/#instructions-for-mapping-an-existing-domainI hope this is helpful. Please let me know if I can do anything else for you. Thanks!

Thanks so much Robin, however, what I’m trying to do is change my url from the amoncrief75.com to aprilmoncrief.com. I want my blog site to look more professional so I upgraded it, however in order to complete this process, wordpress tells me that I need to change how I receive my emails and I have to find out who the “provider” of my domain is in order to get some type of information??? in order to “officially” change my url from amoncrief75.com to aprilmoncrief.com. Am I to go to that site you listed above, http://1and1.com, in order to find out who my provider is & then am I to contact them in order to get this specific information in order to have my emails directed to my new url (aprilmoncrief.com) site??? Please help and in as “lamens terms” as you possibly can:). I’m so not a “techy” so alot of this “computer jargon” is somewhat ambiguous & confusing:). Thank you so much! April

Robyn, I’m on this page right now,
What do I do next in order to complete this url “upgrade” process?
Thanks again!

Hi April! First and foremost, we need to make certain you own aprilmoncrief.com. When I go to the public registration info for that custom domain, I am seeing the owner listed as:
Registrant Name: Andre Schneider
Registrant Organization: DomCollect AG
Is it possible you allowed that domain to expire? If so, it may have been purchased by someone else. If this is the case, you need to contact them (their email is listed as (email visible only to moderators and staff)) to see if you can buy it back. You can also contact the domain registrar directly by located their contact info on http://1and1.com /.This is the very first step — insuring domain ownership. Once that’s settled, we can move forward with mapping your WordPress.com site to your custom domain name.
Thanks very much and best of luck getting your domain back! -
Okay so Robyn, I’m really getting the run around here. I just got off the phone with Wild West Domains as well as 1&1.com and they both informed me that they are “not” the support or have no central control of the domain. Erin (a guy) a Wild West Domains advised that they are showing as the registrars but that you guys, “WordPress” controls the support. They said that they are not hosting the site but wordpress is. I also went to http://who.wildwestdomains.com/ to find out exactly who is the “registrar” and it shows Wild West as such but has wordpress as the name server: Name Server: NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
Name Server: NS2.WORDPRESS.COM.Please advise what do I do now? I have been working on this for days now & I’m just thinking through 3 support people, yourself, 1&1 and Wild West, I should have this resolved by now. Please, I really need to get this taken care of as soon as possible. I just need to know what to do, in the easiest of terms please, on my part. Thanks again.

Hi April, I’m sorry you’re going through this frustration.
By reading the details below, it sounds as if you were looking into amoncrief75.com/. In that case, you’d be correct with all the information you’ve just provided.
However, in the case of aprilmoncrief.com, this isn’t the case. Please take a look at this link:
https://cloudup.com/cxgaWv0XGMN
You can see that this domain expired on May 5, 2014, and that it’s currently in the redemption period. The only way to regain access to the domain name is for your registrar to allow it.1&1 Internet is the registrar for that domain name.
Aprilmoncrief.com has been mapped with us since June 6, 2014, but it has never been registered here at WordPress.com.
On the other hand, amoncrief75.com has been mapped AND registered with us since November 20, 2013.
I know it’s confusing, and I wish I could help with aprilmoncrief.com/, but until you redeem that domain, I cannot help you map it to your WordPress.com site. If you have other questions before you approach 1&1, please let me know.
-
So basically Robyn, what I need to do is contact 1&1 and have them allow me to “redeem” this url (aprilmoncrief75.com)? What goes into that? I mean, what do I need to have in order to get this done on their part? And once that’s done, what next? Should I just let you know that that url (aprilmoncrief75.com) has been redeemed?

Ok, so the lines are getting crossed again…here are the facts as things stand today:
1. amoncrief75.com is registered and mapped here at WordPress.com. You do not have to do anything extra to use this domain. It’s expiration date isn’t until 11/20/2014.
2. aprilmoncrief.com is registered (but expired) with 1&1, but mapped here at WordPress.com. If you want to use this domain, you have to contact 1&1 and tell them you let your domain expire and you would like to save it while it’s in its redemption period.
3. The domain you just mentioned — aprilmoncrief75.com — is not hosted, registered, or mapped anywhere. It is free for purchase. If that is the domain name you want, you can register it right here by clicking Store in your Dashboard.
I think you just have to decide which of those domains you want for your site. Then, you can proceed accordingly. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you.
