Location Based Content
-
The site I am working on has multiple locations across the country. Each location dictated by a series of zip codes. I need to make the site searchable via those zip codes and send the visitor directly to the page, rather than to a search result page. The previous plugin used to accomplish this is out of date and no longer available.
Ideally I’d want to keep the list of zip codes directly tied to the page with a custom field, but I don’t want to do something that will damage SEO either (if this could enhance it, then great).
Any ideas?

Hey there, it sounds like you’re looking for a plugin recommendation, and with these forums being primarily for sites that use our free-tier hosting (which does not allow plugins like some of our other plans do) we may not be your best bet for advice on this.
Personally I’d avoid anything that dynamically changes by zip code, since that could mess up your SEO. If you have pages for your different areas and help visitors access those easily, that may be best. But, again, you don’t have to take our word for it!
If you’re using WooCommerce for this, they have an excellent sales team that knows extensions very well. They can likely make a good recommendation.
Otherwise, look for Geotargeting plugins as that’s the function you seem to be after.
And, in case you’d like to host here (we provide hosting as well as security, maintenance, backups, spam blocking and more) here’s a little more info about our services:
