Location Panel in Oxygen is completely different

    Hi everyone,

    Frustrating afternoon.

    I am seeing something completely different in the Oxygen Theme in the editing posts section.

    I have created a Front Page, set it as Showcase Template, and then made a static page=front page in the Reading settings.

    But when I go to create a post and assign it to a particular location (eg. primary, featured etc) as seen in instructions and videos, I instead a Location panel which has these descriptors:

    LOCATION:
    Any location you set for this post will be public.
    Tag your posts with a location, and get found by readers who love the same spot:
    Turn on location tagging

    This is completely weird. The Location tag is available and ticked in the screen options.

    What the **** is going on here?

    Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    If you’re talking about a wordpress.COM blog, you’ve been reading the wrong instructions. The right instructions for the wordpress.com version of the theme are these:

    I am having the same issue. It seems to have linked “Location” to Google search and maps – and there are no options for primary, secondary, etc.

    justpi, the answer is not in the link you provided.

    Justpi is correct. The primary/secondary etc options are what you will find in wordpress.org.

    If you are working with wordpress.com then you need to follow the instructions on this page:
    http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/oxygen/

    They do work. Make sure you follow the instructions exactly and that your images are 750px wide in order for the feature slider to work.

    The problem is not the feature slide, the slide works perfectly (and the images are the right size). The problem is is the “Location” section is not showing the correct (or any) options, but rather displaying a google search box that is linked to google maps. Unless I am missing it, I don’t see anything about “recent articles” at http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/oxygen/.
