Locked myself out of editing on home page

This page is locked for editing. I did something but not sure what it was.
Any help gratefully received. Thanks.

1. This “page” is your blog front – you can’t “edit” it. Your blog front normally displays your latest posts. You have deleted the sample “Hello World”, and haven’t published any other post, so your front has nothing to display.
2. The normal content of a blog is posts (created in Posts > Add New), not pages; difference explained here:
The pages you have published should be posts. You can copy their content, paste it in new posts you will create, then delete the pages (after transferring the comments to the posts).
To transfer the comments, you’ll have to copy each one, submit it yourself in the new posts, then click Comments in your dashboard sidebar to restore original date, time and commenter’s data. Note: log out before submitting other people’s comments.

You’re welcome. Note that if by “dumping” you mean deleting the blog and creating a new one, you won’t be able to use the same URL again (i.e. http://edshaw.wordpress.com/ ).
