Locked out/ No longer have access

I have used a free wordpress account as a blog on and off again for several years. I recently attempted to log in and it said that I didn’t have an account. I went through all of the steps to recover my account, but all it did was create a NEW account with my existing email. So now I can’t even do the recovery or forgot me password steps. Any suggestions?

You cretaed the account https://wordpress.com/forums/users/originala18defcfa1/ only 2 months ago. It’s obvious your site is connected to another account of yours.

Yes, that’s why I stated that it created a new account using my email account. I thought I was clear on that. I have only used one email for my account, so I’m confused why it says I don’t have an account and created a new account instead. My site is http://www.gavinmcroft.wordpress.com
