Locked out of 2-step authentication after Google Authenticator update

  Hi, I recieved an update this morning for the Google Authenticator app I use to generate 2 step authentication codes to login to various accounts.
  After the update all accounts were gone, including the one for WordPress, so I can’t login into my account anymore.

  I was able to click around in a session that was still logged in, so I tried the instructions to disable 2-step authentication and re-eanble it afterwards, but clicking the “Generate Backup Codes” button didn’t generate anything.
  That session is now also logged out, so I’m currently out of options.

  The same exact thing has happened to me. Please any one who can help rectify this problem it will be gravely appreciated. I have tried to contact support and have not heard back.

  whoops…. I did not include this information. I had to create this temporary account to post this. The site I need to have access to is on that I currently do not use. It is: ngacook.wordpress.com.
