Locked out of my original account
-
Hi, I had to create a new account to be able to access these forums. I am locked out of my original account because of the two step authentication. My old laptop died, then I lost my phone so I can’t use the authenticator because it has my old phone number. I don’t want to lose the work I put into my original account, so how do I get access to it?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello Morgana58!
When you set-up your Two Step Authentication you should have been prompted to to generate a set of 10 one-time use backup codes. Hopefully you have these written down somewhere! If you do, just log in normally and use one of these backup codes instead of your login code.
After this you’ll want to disable your Two Step Authentication by going here:
You’ll need to use a different backup code to do this. You should of course then set-up your Two Step Authentication again on a new device! (remember your back up codes!)
Hopefully this helps!

I did save the backup codes, on my old laptop that has died. It would have been ok if my daughter hadn’t lost my phone as well.
All I need is some sort of master code to get into my account so that I can change my phone number, -
I’m sorry to hear that Morgana58!
Unfortunately without your backup codes you’re going to need more help than I can provide. :(
I’ve tagged this thread modlook so hopefully someone with a higher powerlevel than me can come along lend a hand.

Hi morgana58,
Can you confirm which account you need help accessing? Once I know more, I’ll look at the next steps.
Thanks!

Hi morgana58,
I’ve sent an email to the owner of that account. For security reasons, I can’t share that email address with you so please check all of your accounts.
