Locked out of my site

  Hi,

  I have a wordpress site hosted on a domain I own, the web designer who made it has vanished, I am locked out of wordpress and I’m not the admin (I need to contact the admin…..) bottom line is this site needs to be running have no idea what to do….

  The URL of the site is http://www.aypholiday.co.uk – I appear to be locked out of the admin side – my admin/designer has gone and I need to get access… v stuck…

  I am experiencing the exact same issues. It won’t let me sign out or make any changes. Tried a change in profile just to test but not allowed. I am completely locked out.

  Hi Ayp,

  Thanks for the link. aypholiday.co.uk is a WordPress.org site hosted by Claranet (rather than WordPress.com). There is some information about the differences between the two in this guide:

  WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

  We are only able to help with access to WordPress.com sites hosted on our servers so I recommend contacting your hosting provider (Claranet) — they should be able to give you some advice about the next steps and say whether this is something they can help with.

  If you have a user account on aypholiday.co.uk, you could try resetting the password on this page:

  Hi dougofbluffs,

  mylordandme.com is also a WordPress.org site. If you are unable to reset the password from this page, I recommend contacting Bluehost for help :)

  I shouldn’t be surprised. I tried everything suggested and had the same issue. I tried logging out and backing in, which I tried many times, one more time and it published. Weird

  Ayp — I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you but I’m afraid there isn’t anything else I can do. The site is hosted elsewhere, which means we have no access to it.

  Doug — it sounds like you’ve got this sorted now, which is good to hear.
