Locked out of my site

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I tried to change my blog site because it wasn’t allowing me to edit the pages, and when I try to, it sends me to the Buddy Press signing page instead. I have 23 more months of WordPress, can you help me get back in and clean it up a little? Its been three days so far…

  • Hey there!

Happy to try to help! Whenever a WordPress.com site is using a membership plugin like BuddyPress, it’s important to review the information and steps in the guide below, to make sure that your site’s default login and security features are not encountering conflicts with the membership plugin:

    Using Membership Plugins

Creating a membership site? On sites with plugins enabled, you have access to advanced options for creating a membership website by installing one of the many membership plugins. Once you have installed a membership plugin, it may be necessary to change some settings on your site to support a membership flow. This feature is available on sites with the WordPress.com Business or Commerce pla

You may need to reach out to the site owner of the site you mentioned to have them work through those steps, then review the level of access you’ve been given on the site itself as well as within BuddyPress. Since BuddyPress is a third-party plugin, our staff aren’t able to help you set that up for your site, but if your site owner has any questions about the steps in the guide I mentioned above, they can contact support directly at https://wordpress.com/help/ (then clicking Contact Support from that page) and our Happiness Engineers can take a closer look at the site and provide direct advice.

    I hope this helps!
