Locked Out of My WordPress.com Blog

  I was either hacked or screwed up myself, but I am locked out of my wordpress.com blog. When I tried to change my password, it said the site does not exist, and would I like to create a new one.

  I tried the Recovery process, but I do not have or understand any of the three items they need to prove I am the owner.

  Although I have had the site for many years, I am very inexperience on its internal workings.

  My site is hosted on Ionos.

  Can anyone help?

  Are you sure your site is hosted here? The address of the site would be a good start. Are you changing the password for this WordPress.com account when your site is hosted elsewhere? If the site is hosted at Ionos then it will be built with the wordpress.org software and help comes by registering an account at:
  https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
  https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

  As it turns out my site is not hosted on IONOS. My Blog is at https://don26812.wordpress.com/. When I try to access my site to edit it etc, the message says I do not have access privileges and to have the administrator invite me. But I am the Administrator. There is no one else.

  The top link did take me to my Profile. So now do I go to the bottom link? When I did that before, I was asked for one of three pieces of info to prove I was the owner.

  BTW I have multiple backups that begin with db366280064… Are they of any use to prove I am the owner?

  Also when I go to your first link, and click on My Sites, it says I do not have any sites yet.

  That’s because you’re still logged in to this wrong account. Log out here and log back in with the correct username don26812 and correct password.

  I did that. Had an instant message sent to the email that I have on record. When I clicked on the link to go to WordPress, and it took me to my profile again, but when I clicked on My Sites it said I had none.

  I am literally going in circles here.
