Locked out of WordPress and the email associated with it

My husband is locked out of his domain and subsequently his email associated with the domain. I have created a username here to actually ask wordpress a question because you cannot if you are locked out. The recovery doesn’t seem to be working and my husband’s autopay card changed due to fraud on the account therefore his paid subscription lapsed and it was sent to his junk email. The only email associated with his account is the one with the domain to his wordpress account and now isn’t ablet to get into it. This is his business and liveihood that this issue is impacting. Because there is none to talk to he just wants to pay for his account to get his business’ email working again. He has tried everything to recover and also forgotten password but because the domain is past due, he cannot get into anything. He is now hours into doing this, and is impacting our life substantially because we have no business transactions allowed into his email. Also, we didn’t want to post into public forum but since again there is no person to talk to I guess this is our only option. We will be filing a complaint with the attorney general’s office.

    Hi there @mcgowanalli,

I’m really sorry this is having such a big impact on your business. I understand how frustrating this feels for you and your husband.

Since your site is hosted on WordPress.com and the only email associated with the account is the domain email, which is currently unavailable, you won’t be able to reset your password through the usual method. In this case, you should use the Account Recovery process instead of a password reset. For more information, please refer to this guide: https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/

Please have your husband complete this form:
    https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

Once ownership is verified, the WordPress.com team can restore access so he can renew the plan and get email working again.

This is the only secure way to regain access when the account email is unavailable, and it should work once the details are reviewed.

    I hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Hi @mcgowanalli, I’m sorry to hear about this experience.

I’ve also sent you an email to the email address you used to write this forum post to discuss about this issue more in detail and private.
