Locked out of WP site
-
Hello! I’ve been working on a site for a client and accessing her WordPress admin through her GoDaddy dashboard. I installed the WP Security plugin to add some security to her site. When I enabled one of the features, it kicked me out of the admin and required me to log back in. The issue is my client didn’t know the password to her WordPress site as it was made a few years ago and was basically forgotten about. How do I go about gaining admin access back to this site: amyfowlerre.com. Thanks in advance!

Hi,
You can try renaming the security plugin you have recently activated through the file manager and check if it works.
Alternatively, you can access the database for that site through GoDaddy admin panel and change the password for the admin user.
This might help in changing password through database https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/

Hi folks, hope you don’t mind me adding to this discussion.
@barnesjosh94 Just to clarify, this support forum assists users on the WPcom hosted platform. For further help with a site using the open source WP software, you’ll want to head over to https://wordpress.org/support/ where you’ll find documentation and users who have more experience with the software you are using. If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums you can register one on the top of that page.
WPcom (where we are ) and WP are separate entities with different documentation and support forums. More information about the differences can be found here: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
Best wishes
