locking images so people can’t use them

    is there a way to lock images so people can’t use them ? i have it set up now where when someone clicks on photo it opens big separately on different page but people can drag and drop them on to their computers and use them without permission. is there a way to have this option , but with locked images ?

    No there is not. If you post it on the web, some lowlife is going to take it and use it in some way. That, sadly, is the reality of the internet. The only way to keep things on the internet from being misappropriated is to not put them on the internet.

    Your only real choice would be to watermark the images. You can search the internet for something similar to “online image watermark” or check in your photo editing software and see if there is a watermarking option.

    What he is saying is 100 percent correct. Even if you embedded a no right-click code, I could still print screen, bring it into photoshop and crop it out. The best way, is like he said, don’t post in on the Internet period.

    this is all true, the only fool proof way to stop unauthorized use is not to post at all.

    one thing you might consider is keeping all your pictures small, even the bigger ones you link to from thumbnails. i don’t do that, having pretty much resigned myself to people stealing anything, but an option for some maybe.

    you can use a slideshow. i use slide.com and if they try to print it comes out as a black box. Hope this helps.

    All they have to do is take a screenshot of a slideshow slide and they have the image. Slideshows do not prevent people from getting your images.
