are you referring to stopping comments?
go to your admin panel OPTION>>DISCUSSION>> set administrator must approve
OR
OPTIONS>>>PRIVACY and select blog visible to only users I choose
if you only want certain people to see it
OR
uncheck allow comments on the write page in the Discussion box
to stop comments on one post
OR
there is a way to make no comments the default but it escapes me at the moment

turns off comments but comments that are there are still visible on some themes.

You can turn off discussion per post as well.
Open the post from the “Manage” Panel and in the “Write Post” window there is a box on the right side titled “Discussion”. Click on the plus mark to open it and uncheck “Allow Comments”. You can also uncheck “Allow Pings” so that people who link back to your article won’t show up there either. Make sure to “Save” after you’ve made those changes.

erh.. what i mean is.. i wanna to put the post on my blog… but to lock that particular post with a password. then those who wants to view needs the pass work to unlock the post… i saw this function on my friend’s blog…
