Lodestar full width page

    Hi,
I would like to have a full width page with Lodestar as per thie demo but I don’t get the option in the drop down list – only default, portfolio or testimonial. Should I be able to select Full Width page here??

I also have another query with Lodestar. My image galleries have been set up as projects. I have a feature image set for each project so that there is an image in the thumbnail in for the portfolio ‘summary’ page (where the portfolio template has been selected) but when you view the project page, this featured image is displayed at the top of the page and not as the header image which looks odd. Is this how it should work?

  • Hi,

Since your site is marked private, I am adding the tag “modlook” to this thread to alert staff to assist you.

Thanks ever so much for taking a look although I forgot it was private. I’ve just now made it public.

My second query I have answered myself. Yes, it is a feature of the theme but I can get around it by not displaying the featured images on individual pages. I can’t get the individual project featured image to appear as the large header image on each project page but I can live with that as the theme is so gorgeous :).

But I would still like help re. the full width pages.

  • Have you set up a Static Front Page? According to the theme documentation:

When you first activate Lodestar, it displays your posts on the front page in a traditional blog format.

To create a front page with content panels, as seen on the demo, follow the steps to set up a Static Front Page.

You may also want to check out the Lodestar documentation here: https://wordpress.com/theme/lodestar

    Hope this helps.

    @earthgripper,

    Hi,

I would like to have a full width page with Lodestar as per the demo

Where do you find a full width page on the Lodestar demo? The available page templates on Lodestar are the ones you mention: Default, Portfolio, and Testimonial. Panel 1 on the front page of the demo may appear to be full width because the two-column panel layout has been selected.

I’m not sure I understand what you’re saying in the second query. Perhaps the following information will help. The Portfolio, aka the Portfolio archives page, will display the site header image at the top of the page, unless a featured image is set at Customize > Portfolio > Portfolio Archive Featured Image, which will display instead of the site header image. Individual projects will also display either the site header image, or (if one is set) the Portfolio Archive Featured Image, in the header area.

Hi, Yes, thanks, I’ve been able to set up the content panels and static page fine. It is just I would like the pages to be full width if possible – i.e. not have a sidebar.
However, when I look again, they are now full width! I didn’t have to do anything. I don’t know why the content was squashed up to the left as if there was a sidebar yesterday but all is sorted now.
    I will mark as resolved.
Thanks again for the speedy responses.
