Log In and fake WordPress.com pages??
-
Within the past 30 minutes, I have made repeated attempts to log in.
The Log in template “shook its head” repeatedly, rejecting both my password and my log in NAME – even though I am a paid domain owner~!Frantic, I tried 1-800-555-1212 but, because I did not know the city and state of the Headquarters, I ran aground.
I switched browsers, and even rebooted, and the same thing happened.
Finally, in the Search results, I spied an additional WordPress.com domain with the letters “bu” at the end of the URL address. That one brought me in, to my site, to all my posts, and to this help template. WHAT IS GOING ON? IS there a phishing onion-skin site? The log in pages, for both the one which rejected me and the one which accepted me, were identical. Thank you for seriously addressing this concern.

Ruth Ann,
I will look into this for you. In the meantime, I recommend that you change your WordPress.com password and raise your account security by adding two-step authentication:

I’ll get back to you as soon as I find out anything more. Thanks for getting in touch with us.

Ruth Ann,
Additionally, please be sure that you are only logging into your account at http://WordPress.com — rather than searching online for the login page. This is our official log in screen and it’s how you will know that you are secure.
Thanks again.
