Log in issue

  Hi,

  I tried to log in a couple a minutes ago, and I didn’t managed to log in. I received the error message saying that my password is wrong. I changed my password and I tried to add as my new password the old one in order to be sure that I initialy tried to log in with a good password. And it was saying to me that I already had that password. I change it with a new one, but I think that there was a secutiry issue.

  Could you please tell me if my password was changed by someone else?

  Go to your email program and change the password to a very difficult one because that’s how many hackers gain access to blogs.

  Then read this please and act on what you find there > http://en.support.wordpress.com/security/

  If you can log-in
  1. Go here > Users > All Users and delete any user that does not belong there.

  2. Disable post by email > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-by-email/

  3. Disable post by voice > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-by-voice/

  4. Change your blog password to a very difficult one > http://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/#change-your-password If you reset your password, it will also work on mobile devices. If you have two-factor enabled, you will need to create a new application-specific password: http://en.support.wordpress.com/security/two-step-authentication/#application-specific-passwords

  5. Use a secure, encrypted connection to connect to your Dashboard. Under Users → Personal Settings, check the box that says “Always use HTTPS when visiting administration pages, and click Save Changes.

  I’ve already done that. And before reseting my password I used a correct password and I didn’t managed to log in. That’s why I raised this support ticket. Everytime I’m using a difficult password and a https connection.

  Please let me know the exact message you get when you go to http://fatebygeorge.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ and log in with fatebygeorge as your username and your new password.

  If it is not recognizing your password, please make sure you are entering it in correctly since you have already acknowledged that you’re using a complex password.

  So, before reseting my password I was used to log in to http://ro.wordpress.com. I got the error: ERROR: The password you entered for the email or username fatebygeorge is incorrect. And for sure I was trying with the correct password.

  Now I can log in without problem with my new password. My issue was that I didn’t understood why wasn’t working when I initialy tried to log in with my old password.

  I’m glad you are able to log in now. I really can’t explain why it wouldn’t accept your old password if you were in fact typing it correctly. Sorry for the inconvenience.
