Log in issues

    I have been bothering the forum for a few weeks. They tried but couldn’t figure out what was wrong.

    When I log into my blog, which I have on my laptop taskbar, it automatically logs me in.
    When I log into my blog from the WordPress app on my iPhone, again, it automatically logs me in.

    But, on both my phone and laptop, when I go to login through google or safari, I get a message stating I have an unregistered email. This has been causing much trouble since I get email notifications for new posts for those I follow. And some of these bloggers, who also follow me, say I need to log in. And on my cell, I can’t respond to this certain bloggers, but I can on my laptop when I log in through my taskbar.

    I really hope this makes sense. It started about two months ago.

    I already closed my prevent cross-site tracking on my cell, thinking that might help, but it didn’t

    Well it seems that prevent cross-site tracking on my cell solved the issue. BTW I found the answer from an old forum question of mine when having the same issue.

    So, can you please explain to me why, When I log into my blog, which I have on my laptop taskbar, it automatically logs me in.

    Did you also make sure that you are not blocking any cookies? This issue that can come up is due to the fact that we store a “login cookie” that keeps you logged in. If that cookie is blocked you will not “stay logged in” on that browser.

    What is the URL you are using to log in. To clarify, you are entering the email address you have listed here, yes? https://wordpress.com/me/account/

    Hi there –

    1) I couldn’t figure out how to see if I’m blocking cookies.

    No worries. We can help you find those directions. They are specific to whatever browser you are using (Safari, Chrome, FireFox, etc…) Just search something like this, “am I blocking cookies in Safari?”.

    Reading back through this conversation it sounds like you’re trying to sign in to the WordPress.org forums. Is that right? In order to sign in on WordPress.org you need to use that username/password – it is a different entity than WordPress.com and requires a different login.

    If you already have a WordPress.org account, but need help getting logged in, these are the instructions: https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/

    If you don’t have a WordPress.org account, then you just need to create one in order to use the forums.

    Admittedly I am a bit confused about what help is needed from us, and if this doesn’t hit the mark just write back to us with more details. We will do our best to get it sorted out and be of assistance.
