I forgot my password, so I requested a new one. I received one in my email box (two letters/six numbers)and put in username and received password. This takes me to WordPress page that has “Welcome Back” and “your blogs” in box on right side. When I click on blog link under “your blog” or “Welcome back” icon I get login box, e.g. “user name” and “password”. I then put in new “password” I received but nothing happens. I can pull up my blog when I enter the url but I can not get to the dash board to do edits.

Send in an email to support at this domain and tell them your problem, your username and new password and they should be able to sort you out!

I am having the same problem–not to mention, I’m using gmail and have two separate accounts. One is a group email that pertains to a wordpress blog on which I’m an administrator, one is my personal gmail with which I signed up for a wordpress account. When I’m logged in to the group e-mail, the one I need to be logged into when using wordpress, it logs me out of wordpress. There aren’t words to express how profoundly irritating this is.

    Anyone else?

Our email addresses at wordpress.com are unique. Have you read Mark’s gmail trick in this FAQs post? Hopefully it will be helpful for sorting out your problem.

There is a trick that works with Gmail (and possibly other email providers) to let you use one email address as though it were several different addresses. Gmail lets you add “+something” to your mailbox name and still get your mail. For example, (email visible only to moderators and staff) and (email visible only to moderators and staff) and (email visible only to moderators and staff) each look like different addresses to our system but they all route mail to the same inbox: (email visible only to moderators and staff).

Finally, you can leave your accounts just the way they are. You will lose the ability to reset the password without knowing the username. …

Perhaps try to delete the ‘cookies’ (I like to eat cookies tho’) or clear the cache of your browser before entering the new given passwords then see what happens?

When I’m logged in to the group e-mail, the one I need to be logged into when using wordpress, it logs me out of wordpress.

That shouldn’t be happening as google’s and wordpress’ cookies are different and have nothing to do with one another. That sounds more like a browser or security issue.
