Log in problem

My Log in remember me is showing my previous password under my username. I changed the password yesterday, but the old one continues to show. How can I remove it please?

Hi. What browser do you use, and which version?
If you want to find the answer yourself, do a Google search for remove stored password from followed by the name of your browser (for example: remove stored password from firefox)

Just as a total aside, my advice to people is always DO NOT let your browser save passwords. Turn that feature off and remove all stored passwords.
It is not that I am paranoid, but once you’ve had a computer stolen (as an example) you don’t like your passwords being there!

Thank you for prompt reply airodyssey,
Firefox 3.6.16 – but I’m referring to the login remember me for WordPress.
I’m very new to this, and have no idea how my password was ‘remembered’ – and don’t have any passwords stored anywhere except where you have to put a password (and repeat it) to open an account/registration/etc.

Thanks also, teamoyeniyi,
Totally agree – but that is what is so confusing to me – I have no saved or remembered passwords on my browser (assuming you are referring to Tools/Options/Security).
I have been SO careful about this, always.

Do the cookie dance: log out, clear browser cache and cookies, restart computer. That should clear it out.
I suspect what’s showing is just a VISUAL representation, not the actual stored password.

And thank you raincoaster.
Tried that, older password still appears below my username – I give up.
Have changed password to something completely different, and will just have to put up with the annoyance of this, I guess.
