Log in User Name issue
-
I am trying to access a work account, but do not have the user name and it does not allow me to log in using the email address. A red box appears with a message asking me to use the user name instead of email. Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I actually looked to see if I could edit my post because I forgot to explain that. I have a personal blog through wordpress and posted from that. I know my user name but it actually let me log in with my email, so it makes no sense. Unless it has something to do with using my Google account to create it. My co worker who set up the work account doesn’t remember the user name. I don’t know why it lets me use email for mine but not that one.

Hi There,
Keegan here, I would be happy to help.
Can you confirm that you are trying to login to your blog http://elephantsontheloose.wordpress.com/?
If you are unable to login you can try the Account Recovery Tool. You will need to enter the email you used to open the account.
Please let me know if this enabled you to login.

You failed to clarify exactly which site and which account you referred to when you said “I am trying to access a work account,”. Please do that now.
It sounds like you could be using an email address that belongs to the username account that registered the site. That is a security risk and ought not to be done.
What is the URL of the site?
Exactly which username account registered that site and owns it?
If someone else registered and owns the site then they ought to add you as a user properly so have them see here https://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/ provided you are actually referring to a WordPress.COM account and site, and not to a WordPress.ORG account and site.

May I please ask if you are a Staff wannbe on trial to get onto Staff? If you are then I will not post into any thread you post into.

Nevermind, we just found an old email of his that has his username. Still not sure why it was giving us that error but at this point we don’t really care and it doesn’t matter. Thank you all for your help.
