When I try to log in, I’m told ‘user does not exist,’ but I know the user name is correct. Do user names expire when not used for a long time? If so, this is a problem because changes need to be made (to the ‘author’ bio text), and this can only be done by the specific user.

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The employee at my company who created the company blog (which has multiple contributors) left the company years ago. I am a contributor, though I never used WordPress; instead I sent my blog posts to the blog administrator, who is still with the company and who posts FOR me (and others). My author bio needs to be updated. But I don’t know what email address was associated with my author account when it was created (WP doesn’t recognize any of my email addresses, including past email addresses, when I try to log in). Because I don’t know what email address is associated with my account, I can’t reset the password either. How can I edit my author bio without the details of the account that was created by an employee who no longer works with the company? Also: How is it possible that the administrator can publish posts with me as the author, but the administrator can’t edit my author bio? Seems very counter-intuitive. Thanks.

    Hello!

It seems that you haven’t been added to the site correctly yet. One of the administrators is attempting to add you as an author using your WordPress.com account, but it appears that you haven’t accepted the invitation yet. Please check your email for the invitation and make sure to accept it. If you encounter any difficulties, please reach out to the website administrator, as they will be able to provide better assistance.

I hope this information is helpful! If you have any further questions or need further support, please don’t hesitate to ask.
