I should be able to log out from any screen I am on while using WordPress. Currently, I need to got to one page to click onto another page just to log out. Is it possible to have a log out button available in more than one spot?
Also, if I work on a blog post and then come back to edit later after logging out I have to click to multiple pages before I can edit. This seems a little inefficient.
Editing and logging out are buttons that should be available on every screen.

The Log Out option can be found by clicking on your profile picture top-right of the screen. Most websites have the log-out option there, rather than always-visible as its own, separate button. Granted, on WordPress.com clicking your profile icon loads a new page, rather than just showing a drop-down with the different options as on many other websites do, but there are no plans to change that at this time.

It’s only possible to edit a specific post or specific page, so I don’t see how a universal Edit button like you suggest would work. It will always need to first take you to a list of all posts or all pages, so you can select the specific item you want to edit. That is how it currently works – to see a list of posts on your site you click on Posts under the Site heading, and for pages you click on Pages.
Can you expand a bit on what you mean here?
That said, if you view your site itself while logged in you’ll see an edit button at the bottom or the top (depending on your theme) for every post and page on your site, that you can use to edit that post or page directly.
