Logged in as admin but no theme editor
-
Hi, I just created a wordpress.com page. I am logged in as an admin but there is no editor option under appearance. I will like to do some html editing to remove the wordpress footer. Helpppppp!! I am using the Adele theme
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is no theme editor at WordPress.com, and removing the WP.com and theme links in the footer will get your blog suspended.
If you wish to alter the appearance of a theme here, you will need the $30 a year Custom CSS upgrade, and you MUST keep those links. Even CNN, paying $30,000 per year for each of their blogs, retains those links.

That sounds strange. I’ve been researching this and have seen other people show they have an editor under appearances in their dashboard where they can edit the theme layout. A lot of people are editing the footer via the editor. Others are installing plugins that allow them to edit.

Can someone please help me with this? I am willing to pay to be able to remove advertising on my page even from wordpress. I see a lot of wp.com blogs that don’t have the footer

You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard > Store and purchase the No Ads upgrade.
See here then > http://en.support.wordpress.com/no-ads/ -

Read this please so you are clear on the differences between free hosted WordPress>COM blogs and WordPress.ORG installs. http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Thanks for the info. Is there atleast a way to hide the name of the theme at the footer? I already know everyone around me will be trying to create a blog with the same theme.
