  I can’t login as it says my email address is not valid even though I get emails almost daily advising that stuff has been updated.

  I don’t have a site linked to this WordPress.com account

  Glad we could help! WordPress (the free software) has a bit of a tech learning curve and requires maintenance, but it’s a great way to learn! Your host can help, or you can use the resources at https://wordpress.org/support/

  I actually got most of my start with my local developer community. And even there, some of those developers host here with us instead, not because they can’t do the tech stuff, but because they just want someone else to handle it for them. If you decide that would be a good thing for your site, just let us know!
