Logging in only partially works

I can log in and view my admin area. However, for some reason, when I go to my blog, I am not logged in. I logged in under the meta and it worked. However, again, when going to my blog, I am not shown as logged in. I cannot click on any post as an administrator to edit. The only way to do that is to go to admin and look under posts. I don’t have the “me, blogs, follow” etc at the top when I am at my blog.

In the past, I was able to go to my blog, click on a post and from there be taken directly to the post in admin to edit as well as having the WP bar at the top.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Is this the site you are talking about, http://fruitoftheword.com/ ?

1st off, log out, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart the browser and then try again.

Also in your preferences in your browser, make sure it is set to accept cookies.

    Yes, that’s the site.

I did as you suggested and when that did not work, I rebooted my computer. That did not work as well. I then decided to check my other site hosted here (http://devotionsandblessings.wordpress.com/) and that site has the bar at the top as I am logged in. For some reason, http://fruitoftheword.com does not have that bar and does not show me as logged in.

I even logged in from the meta on fruitoftheword.com and that does not help.

Strangely, it is only that site that does not show me as logged into WordPress.

Should I open a help ticket?

Long time no connect. Hope you are well and happy too aside form this weirdness.
If you don’t mind me jumping in my answer is “yes”. Here’s the link After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.

Thanks timethief. I sort of not blogged for a long time (moved, lot of changes) and blogging went on the backburner. Now that I want to blog again, I found that one glitch. It’s not that big of a deal as far as blogging but I want to be able to make changes from a post via “edit” and be taken directly to the post in the dashboard as opposed to going to my dashboard and then finding the post and making the changes from there.

I’ll do as you suggested and choose “no” and open a help ticket. I just purchased the “redirect” earlier this month as it was about to run out so that may be the problem — though I don’t see how.

Thanks!! Hope you are doing well. I remember telling you about my macaw pulling off the keys to my keyboard. He now has adopted a guinea pig as his very own pet. Very weird. I know, off topic but it’s funny.

Some themes have admin link “Edit” that can be used when you are logged in and some don’t. You use Vigilance and you should have the admin “edit” link appearing. I have it up on a test blog. That’s why I sent you to Staff.

We can also use the “edit” link on the top gray navigation bar.

P.S. I remember the macaw and hope the guinea pig remains safe with him. :)

WordPress staff resolved this for me yesterday (they were great)!!! Anyway, I thought I would post the end result here in case anyone else has the same problem.

Since I have domain mapping, I needed to have third party cookies turned on. Without that, my domain mapped blog did not recognize me as being logged in.

Rats! We Volunteers knew that but didn’t think to ask it. I’ll make a note to remind myself to ask everyone in the future. Happy blogging! :)
