    I want each of my blog entries to have set a limited access to the general public, half access to some customers, and full access to other customers. How can I set my blog so that I can assign login names and passwords to each of my customers?

    I see in the wordpress showcase, the website http://ilivewithadisability.com/ has something similar to what I’m looking for. There is a login and password for each person on the top right of the homepage.

    Please help! Thanks!

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I’m afraid that isn’t really possible at wordpress.COM. You can set the blog to private and then invite only those that you wish to view the contents (they have to have or get a wordpress.COM account but do not have to have or get a blog). All of those people would be able to see everything. There is no “half-way” setting or tiered viewing.

    You could password protect certain pages in addition to the private setting and then just give those with higher access the password to those pages and/or posts.

    Tiered access is an option with a self-hosted blogs via plugins, I’ve worked with one of them, but to get the tiered registration and access part of things you have to pay extra, and if I remember it was $495 per year. I haven’t looked lately, perhaps there are some free options now, or perhaps some that are less expensive.

    I’m sorry but you will have to hire a web host and set up a WordPress.ORG install to achieve that. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    Please also take note of these things:
    wordpress.com blogs cannot be used to drive traffic to 3rd party sites
    wordpress.com blogs cannot be equipped for commerce
    types of blogs allowed & not allowed at wordpress.com

    Hi, what are the steps (Where do I click on dashboard? Settings?) to make the blog private. Thank you.

    @mb1212: Hi. It’s under Settings > Privacy.

    Do understand that making a blog “private” does not remove it from the application of the ToS to it.
