login attempts
-
Every now and then I get login attempts with dubious ip-addresses consisting of numbers and letters such as ‘16858a4d685c84511a4dedc8c8ee0c28’. Fortunately they are blocked by the plugin ‘limit login attempts’ – what I would like to know – what are they because the ip-addresses are neither IP4 nor IP6 conform.

Thanks for your reply!
I added my site to my profile – which is https://www.schelken.orgHopefully I use the correct version of WordPress for this forum – that I downloaded from 1und1.de a German provider.
Regards MichaelPS: by the way – my problem is still persistent

Hi! This forum is for the managed hosting service, rather than the free software to run with other providers.
You’ll want to create an account at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ if you don’t have one already, then post in the forums there. In fact, I’d check in directly with support for the plugin ‘limit login attempts’.
Hoping this helps!
