‘Login’ Button Missing on My Website: Memory Error

  • Unknown's avatar

I haven’t posted on my author site (http://www.alycewilson.com), which I update and manage using WordPress, for a while, but when I tried to log in today, there was no ‘log in’ link on the right-hand bar. Instead, I got this message: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1755173 bytes) in /home/alycewil/public_html/wordpress/wp-includes/functions.php on line 435′

Can you please help me figure out what’s going on?

    Hi @shantipoet,

Your site alycewilson.com is using the self-hosted version of WordPress, and you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums:

    https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

These forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only :)

Check your PHP memory limit; memory should be 64MB or above.
you can try increasing Memory limit by adding define ('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '128M'); in wp-config.php file.

    Thanks !!!

Thanks for the tip! My husband, who’s my webmaster, was able to figure it out. There were memory issues relating to one of my plug-ins. I do appreciate your answering, even though I misunderstood the difference between being hosted on WordPress and using it as a content manager (my husband has since explained that to me.)
