Login hell
-
I have an old email address which I don’t have access to anymore.
I don’t use or access this email address any longer. All of my receipts are still going to that old email address so I can’t locate the transaction ID’s or URL keys.
It seems I’ve also setup a gmail for WordPress with my current email address but this is not connected to the original account.
When I try to now login to the old it says my saved password is incorrect and I have no way to reset it. I’m paying for domain, hosting, and email so I want to be able to activate it. I’ve tried contacting WordPress but I can’t speak to a human and the chatbot can’t resolve this or put me through to a human because the gmail and the old email aren’t linked. It keeps sending me around in login hell.
Can anyone help?

Hi @alisonecable
I understand that you no longer have access to your old email address that owns the site you are paying for. You can still provide us with a transaction ID from your bank statement so we can help you recover the account and replace its email address with a new one you can access.
A transaction ID is a unique alphanumeric code generated for your payment. If you purchased an upgrade on the site with a credit card, PayPal, or another method, you can retrieve a transaction ID from your bank or PayPal statements: https://wordpress.com/support/billing-history/#find-your-transaction-id-in-wordpress-com
Once you’ve retrieved your transaction ID, please visit https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery to start the recovery process.
Let me know if you have other questions.
