Login Invalid – Commenting Issue

Hello!
One of my blog readers has an issue with trying to login to their wordpress account. It’s saying it’s an invalid username or password.
The login she is trying to use works perfectly for another blog http://www.splaton.com but when she goes to comment our my blog and tries to login with those same details it won’t work.
This is what she wrote to me:
I’ve been having issues trying to comment on ABC’s of Style as it won’t let me log in to WordPress under the XXXXXXX username. It keeps saying “invalid name or password” every time I try. I have no problems logging in via Splat On! at all, just your site. Not sure why since I’m pretty sure I was able to comment there when you first started the blog. I swear I’m not a spammer!
It’s no big deal, but I do read the blog at least once a week and would like to be able to comment on some of the posts you lovely ladies put up without having to resort to using another pseudonym or email address.
So I gave it a go myself on a completely random wordpress.com blog. I tried logging in with username/password from two different wordpress accounts and neither of them worked to try and comment on another blog.
Is this a known problem? Are wordpress logins specific to just one blog?
I’ve been trying to figure it out but I can’t come up with an answer or solution at this point.

I am having the same problem on my friend’s blog http://www.humarashid.com No matter what I do, I cannot comment on there. Even if I am already logged in, it tells me I must log in to comment. And when I try to log in, it says I have an invalid username.

Scroll to the footer of the blog you point to, locate this link and click it “powered by WordPress“. As you can see that’s a self hosted WordPress.org install. We cannot help you with here with that site as this forum is only for support free hosted WordPress.com bloggers. For clarity please read > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ -

Please read what I said above to thespylibrarian. That site is also a “powered by WordPress” blog ie. it’s a WordPress.org install. It’s not a free hosted WordPress.com blog.
