login issues

Not sure this will work (e.g. I’ll be able to see posted responses), as I accidentally found a way to post from my website but… When I try to login to the wordpress website to be able to post on the forums for help and I request a new password it says I don’t have an account with that e-mail, so I try to set up a new account and then I’m told there is already an account with that e-mail. When I try to set it up with a different e-mail, I’m told to wait for a verification e-mail which I don’t ever see. Any ideas how to be able to login directly to the site so I can get the help I need?

Hi there,
Along with the site, also please confirm the email address you’re using to try and log in.

I’m trying to login on wordpress.org so I can post on the forums (I’m honestly not sure how I was able to navigate here via my website account).
The e-mail (email visible only to moderators and staff) shows that my registration is “pending” but I cannot find the activation e-mail anywhere. My personal e-mail (which I’d rather not post on a public forum) I get the “you already have an account” when I try to register but “there is no account” when I say I forgot my password. -
Wish I could help you more, but the WordPress.com forums are separate from the WordPress.org ones. In your place, I would create a completely new account with another email and then post in the forums asking the moderators there to help me recover access to my other accounts.

That’s part of my problem (per the original post). When I try to set up with a different e-mail, I never see the confirmation/activation e-mail I need to set up the account with the new e-mail.

Hi there,
To clarify, WordPress is free open-source software that is owned by no company or entity. You can download it from WordPress.org and install it on any server for free, but because it is free it does not come with support, and is totally DIY. This version of the platform is more advanced, which is why it is often the choice of web designers and developers, but it helps to know what you are doing any time you are hosting your own website.
On WordPress.com we also use this same software (a custom version of it) that has been adapted to work on a cloud-based platform. This simplifies setting up a WordPress site, as you do not need a host, you can just sign up and create a site, and we manage everything else for you. This also means we can support your site via live chat and email, which is a big advantage if you are just starting out.
However, if you own a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site we are not able to offer support. Our service is so specialized our support only applies to sites we host directly on WordPress.com. For help with firstfestivefooties.com (hosted via Bluehost) you will instead want to find help in the community forums here – https://wordpress.org/support/
Hope this helps point you in the right direction!
