Login Logout function

I thought it would be nice to have a login logout function on the blog, where users can register & accept. That way people have to log in to view the blog, and not any random person can see it.
I hope this feature comes in the future. -
There is a similar feature where you can make your blog private and add users to read your blog the only down fall is they would need to set up a WP.com account you can find out more information by following this support link. » http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
You’ll find what i am talking about under the 3rd option which states the following
I would like my blog to be visible only to users I choose – You would use this setting to create a private blog. If selected, another area will appear where you can control which WordPress.com users will be able to log into your blog to read it (those users will only be able to read your blog, they will not get access to your dashboard to edit your blog, please see this section if you want to give people edit access):
