I didn’t have a blog, so I tried to make it, but it kept adding blog to hte end of it. apparently it had already been made. except it hasn’t. so i changed my username so i could change it back in order to get it to recreate my blog. it won’t let me. it says it’s taken. but it isn’t taken. because it was mine. and now I want it back. it’s my web persona. can you fix this please? I need my username as triadne and my blog as triadne.wordpress.com

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • triadne.wordpress.com has been deleted. I’m sorry, but deleted blogs cannot be restored or reused. Deleting a blog is permanent and the name cannot be used again.

There are several warnings about this on the My Sites -> Settings -> Delete Site page and in the help pages, and you are required to confirm the deletion by email.

    More information is available here:

    Delete a Website

Good news is that you can start a new blog as there as so many other names available.

you say cannot but I believe you mean to say wordpress won’t do it. but the problem here is that it is wordpress’ fault. I had that blog and it has disappeared. I did not get any email asking me to confirm it being deleted. in fact, I deleted a different blog that it made by accident and I got no email then either.
I personally don’t believe it is good enough for wordpress to simply deny this. perhaps you can confirm that the blog was indeed linked to me, and there is no security concern in that case. if it’s a money issue then fine, tell me how much it would cost.
telling me that it cannot be restored, simply as a named blog albeit without content, that doesn’t fly. I am not dumb. I have run a website myself and I know that it is certainly possible to restore that site and attach it to my account.

I appreciate your time in dealing with this.
please let me reiterate. I have not deleted triadne.wordpress.com. I changed my username and it asked me to generate the site, I said yes and it created tremault.wordpress.com instead. this is a computer error. I don’t believe it is fair to penalise me for a computer error.

furthermore, you have not addressed my inability to restore my username to triadne. I am an indie games developer and I use triadne as my brand name and i use this name across the internet for many things. I need that username. it did not tell me that I wouldn’t b able to change it back. please can you correct my username.

  • When you changed your username along with your blog’s address there was a warning stating that you’ll lose the address ‘triadne.wordpress.com’ forever if you proceed. Here’s the relevant support document:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/#instructions-for-changing-your-site-address

The same applies to your username.

This is WordPress.com’s policy and there’s nothing I can do about it.

I suggest creating a new .wordpress.com blog or register a domain:

ok I realise that perhaps you don’t have that functionality available to you personally, but come on, you know that’s not what i’m asking. can you escalate this please? I don’t believe it is sound business sense to deny such a simple thing.
right now, I am trying to find the best alternative to wordpress. I am not feeling good about wordpress even though it seems like the best one. I am actively trying to not use wordpress and that is really not a good look for you guys. furthermore, I am very likely to tell people not to use wordpress if they can help it. do you know what I mean? surely it would make good sense to show exemplary customer service and then when the day comes that my games are more popular, people will see wordpress associated with my brand and that will be good press for you?

  • I have contacted you via email.
