Login not recognised except on admin pages
-
I am logged in to wordpress.com and can access my sites WP Admin pages normally. However, if I open the site home page or any blog post, I no longer see admin (eg “Edit”) links nor do I see that I am subscribed to the blog.
I am running Safari on OSX 10.11 without ad-blocking or similar content control.
Any suggestions as to what is causing this and how to resolve it?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That is very strange. have you tried logging out and clearing your cache? Have you tried a different browser?

Yes, that did not seem to solve things. The problem affects Safari on both Mac and iOS.
However, I think I have found the source of the problem.
In Safari there is a preference setting under “Privacy” for “Cookies and website data”. This was set to “Allow from current website only”, and changing it to “Allow from websites I visit” appears to fix things.
This makes sense if the login cookies are from wordpress.com and I am only another domain (the blog has a custom domain). I am not sure how it was working before, but perhaps something changed either in the cookie or Safari implementations…

You might try giving your cookies a clear if you haven’t. Could help.
But yes, does sound like a cookie issue. Login does require cookies to know you are logged in.
