Login Problem
-
Hi,
I am unable to Login – the address is coming up ashttps://wordpress.com/log-in?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fkiwozikonnections.wordpress.com%2Fwp-admin%2F and the login box is greyed out and won’t allow typing. (Browser is IE11)If I use an alternate browser the address comes up as WordPress.com (Automatic , Inc) [US] https://wordpress.com/log-in
and Login box works OK*While IE11 is no longer geing updated by MS, I have had no trouble accessing any other sites.
* I have carried out the usual resets, deleting cookes, cache etc but the problem remains. Please advise
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m having the same issue and it looks like a lot of other people are too. Hopefully it will get fixed soon! I’ve found that it works fine on my phone so while not ideal, it’s an option for the time being.

Hello,
I am trying to replicate the problem you are facing. Could you tell me which operating system that you are using?

Hi lemacart,
I am trying to replicate the problem you are facing. Could you tell me which operating system that you are using?
* Win 10 Pro; x64; all latest updates installed.
* As mentioned – IE11 produced my first quoted URL and was a “no go”.
* MS Edge – produced my second quoted strange URL and did allow access. -
I get a mostly blank screen on both of my machines.
Toshiba Satellite, 64 bit, windows 7 professional and Dell XPS 13, 64 bit, windows 10.

I just doubled checked. I am logged in via the log in box on top of forum screen. Could not log in else where as username was grey and not allowing input. , Page is up but when I go in to write Blue banner (No writing) The blank white screen below. No content is showing. Mobile works fine and all content is there.

Hi,
I’ve replicated the problem with Windows 7 and it looks like it’s being caused by a
Exception in window.onload: Error: An error has ocurredJSPlugin.3005occuring in the browser. To fix it you could manually download the update from the Microsoft Update Catalog. However I would recommend switching to another browser. -
I am hearing of the same problem from users of my blog – both on IE (PC) and Safari (IPad).

I use both Epic and Pale Moon. It’s no go. I note that all of this crap happened after a series of Microslop updates. I’m not saying that’s the problem because I don’t know. But, If losers have decided there’s too much ‘real’ news on WordPress.com…

Sorry – 1. I don’t place too much emphasis on “Win 7 era” – I have Win 10 with all the latest updates installed.
2. While I accept IE11 is no longer being kept up to date by MS, this current problem is only applicable to “WordPress”
3. This leading part of the URL – [quote] WordPress.com (Automatic , Inc) [US] displayed by my other browser seems to suggest it is being forwarded to the USA.I will wait until WordPress fixes their problem thanks.

Hi,
If you check the Microsoft Update Catalog there is an update for IE11 for Windows 10 which you can download.

The same here, yesterday great, last night and today the email entry is grey and allows no entry.
-
I am also unable to login as the email address/username box is greyed out on the login page. I have also tried going through the email me a login link and while it would let me type in my email address it would not let me continue.

Typical WordPress strategy. Make untested changes on a Friday afternoon and then go home for the weekend. This has happened so many times previously!
WordPress staff fail to understand that some of us are quite satisfied with the old technology that we are using and it is inappropriate to make changes that appear to abandon it.
As WordPress becomes more of a challenge to use then I guess many users like me will simply give up on it.

@apetcher – I can see your similar response on another thread about this, can I ask that you refrain from posting similar comments about our testing strategy, please?
For some details, can people let us know what link you are using to log in, please?
When you head to WordPress.com and click on Log In, can you enter a username and click continue?
Thanks

As a follow-up –
Can you confirm which browser and device you are using, please?
As a workaround, please use this link – https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?no_calypso
