  Thanks for trying to help, but your reply above will only help if they’re trying to regain access to another WordPress.com account. If they’re trying to access the dashboard for a self-hosted WordPress site, which is usually the case with these requests, those instructions won’t help them, so it’s best to always first make sure exactly what site someone is trying to gain access to, so you can give them a more accurate answer :)

  Also note that on WordPress.com you don’t log into a site’s dashboard, you log into a WordPress.com username account. Once you’re logged into the account you automatically have access to the dashboards of all the sites under that account.

  Logging into a specific site’s dashboard only applies to the self-hosted version of WordPress.
