‘Login prompt’ deletes user’s comment
-
Hey there,
Just wanted to let you know that there’s an issue with comments on blogs when the reader is not logged in. So I was reading someone’s blog today, typed a long and detailed comment, and then was redirected to a page asking me to log in. So instead of allowing me to log in and then send the comment I had typed up, it logged me in and then reset the page, deleting my unpublished comment.
Thanks,

Hi Bronze –
Thanks so much for writing to us. This described behavior, when a logged in account refreshes on a page, is functioning as it should. That’s the same behavior you would experience across any website when signed out vs signed in.
If you come up on this situation again in the future whether here with WordPress.com or another service, my suggestion is to command + a (select all) before you actually sign in. Then you can simply paste the text once signed in.
