Login to another owner’s site

I am trying to help a friend with their wordpress website but I can’t log in and edit on their site. Completely confused, bad customer service, frustrated that such a simple problem isn’t easily fixed and there is no information available.

My friends site, they sent me the email invite so I’m on the list as a user but can’t do anything or even get to the “edit site” page.

Without the site address, it’s difficult to help. Your friend can comment with their account, or they can get help via support to add you if they have a paid plan.
If this is for a WordPress.com hosted site, make sure they have given you permissions to allow you to edit the site. You can share this page of user roles with the site owner. https://wordpress.com/support/user-roles/
If you have been sent a WordPress.com invite and accepted it, the site can be edited by clicking My Site at the top left of WordPress.com. If you have more than one site in this account, it will say “My Sites” plural, with an option to switch site below.If this is for a site not hosted via WordPress.com, then WordPress.org would be where to get assistance. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are a little separate, and that can be confusing.
