Login to private blog goes to dashboard
-
I have two private blogs.
On http://justbuz.wordpress.com, when I enter my username and pw at the login screen, I go directly into the main page (i.e., the blog page) of the blog. This is good.
On http://sixlings.com, when I enter my username and pw at the login screen, it throws me into the dashboard, and I have to click on “View Site” to get to the main page of the blog. I don’t like this.
Can someone please tell me why these two private blogs are behaving differently, and also how I can change the second one so that it goes directly into the main blog page? I can’t seem to figure it out.
Thank you.

The difference is domain mapping. I’ll pass this on.
Try bookmarking the pages you want to land on.

It turns out this is the behavior for “Administrators.” For all of the “Authors” in my family (which is most of the family), the behavior is even worse. When they login, they get thrown into the “Get another WordPress.com blog in seconds” screen, THEN they have to click on “My Dashboard,” THEN they have to click on “View Site.”
Most of my family will not understand this; they will think everything is broken, and trying to support them — without being able to communicate via the blog — will be very frustrating to me. Having tested the private thing on the justbuz blog, I did not realize it would create such a mess on the sixlings blog due to the domain mapping. On the other hand, now that I’m drawing attention to these blogs, I really hesitate to make it public again. Is there any possibility of a fix to this?
Thank you.

I’ve gotten around this by moving the sixlings.com blog back to the sixlings.wordpress.com domain. Although I’m not crazy about it, this is halfway acceptable since the sixlings.com domain is still mine and it is now redirecting to sixlings.wordpress.com.
