  I would like to voice my support to be able to associate my own OpenID with my WordPress account. Whilst it is nice that one can comment on blogs using an OpenID account, it would be nice for Automattic to go a step further. By enabling one to associate their own OpenID with their WordPress account you will not only make it easier for people to use the site, but potentially more secure. That is, wordpress.com accounts only support a password authentication mechanism, whereas when using an OpenID for log-in, one can use whatever methods are available from their provider, such as digital certificates, cardspace, et cetera.

  P.S. Yes I know there are old posts about this but they have been closed!
