  I am unable to change my site logo. Even after changing it from the site identity menu under customize, the previous logo is displayed as the logo on the browser tab for my website. please help.

  It sounds like you are trying to change your blavatar (blog icon); that’s what is displayed in browser tabs. This page explains how to update your blavatar:
