Logo and title

    Hi, I’m trying to incorporate my logo with the title of my website. This is my old website: http://www.skispec.org but we’re transitioning to wordpress instead. I think I need CSS to make my logo not so enormous and overshadowing of my title.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I looked at http://www.skispec.org/ and I see that the entire site is made with Flash.

    Flash cannot be modified using CSS.

    Once you’ve made the switch to WordPress instead of a Flash-based site, the CSS needed to make the change you described would need to be theme-specific. So in order to help you with it, your site would need to be already setup at WordPress.com with the theme you’re planning to use activated so someone could look at the structure of the HTML and help you get the right CSS selector in order to make the change you want.

    In general, a logo is most commonly added via CSS using the background property. Here is a list of forum posts here at WordPress.com where people have asked for similar help so you can see some examples:

    It’s also worth noting that this forum is for WordPress.com, but if you’re setting up a self-hosted WordPress blog somewhere other than WordPress.com then you should use a different forum http://wordpress.org/support/ or ask the theme author for the theme you picked to see if they can help you out.

    I just realized I completely overlooked http://skispec.wordpress.com/

    That was totally a mistake on my part. Sorry about that!

    Here’s an example showing how to add a small logo to the left of the site title in the Organization theme:

    .site-title a {
	border: 1px dashed red;
	background: url(http://s.wordpress.org/about/images/logos/wordpress-logo-32-blue.png) left 6px no-repeat;
	padding-left: 40px;
	min-height: 40px;
}

    To change the image to your own logo, replace the url() value with a link to an image you have uploaded to your site’s media library and update all the px values to match the width and height of your image.
